Billing & Usage
Importly uses a credit-based billing model with three types of charges:
- Per-MB Download: Each MB of media downloaded from the source deducts credits at $0.01 per MB. For audio-only imports from platforms without a separate audio stream, the smallest available video is downloaded and the audio extracted — the downloaded video's size is what's billed (reported as
downloadedBytesin the job result). - Metadata Requests: Fixed cost of $0.01 per successful metadata extraction
- Transcription: $0.01 per captioned video (no media download involved); built-in AI transcription (
provider: "importly") at $0.02 per media-minute (min $0.03); bring-your-own-key at $0.01 per media-minute (min $0.03). AI transcription additionally bills the media download at the standard $0.01 per MB downloaded (reported asdownloadCostInDollarsin the job result). Failed transcriptions are refunded automatically.
